Hey Folks!
It's my birthday and I realized that, other than chapters for my fanfiction, I haven't posted in ages!
Ah well... lazy ass me... ^_^

So I'm 35... what a weird weird age... I certainly don't feel any different than I did in my twenties... except um, less angsty... maybe...
I'm taking stock of my life and I have to say I'm not that satisfied... I'm not married, not even involved... I'm still torn about where I am in my life... I seem to be getting further and further away from my family and my ability to keep in touch with them is getting worse (I didn't get any birthday calls today but then I hardly ever call them so... *shrugs* )

Other than the family issue my other really big frustration is my writing... it took me ages but I finally made a decision about what I wanted to do... write... and now it seems I can't do it.  Oh I can write, I think my writing is good, but pulling my thoughts out of my head is like pulling teeth.  I don't have writers block, all the ideas and scenes are there, just waiting to be typed onto the screen but I can't get them out... It's like they get into an accident travelling from my brain to my fingers... It takes me forever to write anything... including this... hence my increasingly sporadic posts it seems.

It's like I'm trapped in my head and I can't get out.

I'm promising but I can't seem to get past that stage...

Other than that I'm happy to report I've embraced my inner nerd and returned full throttle to my interests in Sci Fi, Fantasy and... yes... Manga/Anime.

In fact, I've been working on my writing by doing fanfiction.  I have to say it's encouraging to receive so much positive feedback.  I've completed 6 chapters of World Enough and Time... a D.Gray man fanfiction about Tyki and Miranda... and I'm currently struggling along with chapter 7.  Again all the ideas are there and the story is pretty much plotted out in my head but  I have so much trouble getting everything out and onto the page... siiigh...

I've been finding more and more manga and anime to distract me so I now have a few that I follow regularly... D. Gray man, Bleach, Skip Beat, Midnight Secretary, Kuroshitsuji, Honey Hunt, Fullmetal Alchemist, Slayers... I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them now... I pretty much cover the range of styles... if it's a good story and I like the characters I'm happy. ^_^

Well that's pretty much it... It's been a quiet day... actually it's been a quiet life lately... maybe this will be my year to shake things up...

 Still fussing with 2nd chapter of 'World Enough and Time'.  Now that I have the structural issues worked out I should be posting this weekend.
I have been procrastinating today.  I should be writing,  not to mention doing laundry but I have been playing in GIMP and Paint, building Tyki icons and a new wallpaper.  One new icon is currently on display.  Inspired by the song 'Jealous of Your Cigarette' by Hawksley Workman.  (Currently on repeat on my limewire... good thing my roomies aren't home.)  Honestly, someone needs to turn this song into a Tyki AMV! ^_^

Road hugging Tyki.  I know they're the bad guys but I can't help loving them... ^_^  An edited version of this is now my desktop wallpaper.  Yep, for the moment Scar has been retired.

Well I've been home all day in my comfies.  It's really the best place to be when it's cold and wet out.

 Happened to be on my brother's computer so I thought I'd throw a post out there...

Hiya! (waves)

Basically I am far from my own computer, kicking back in the maritimes, visiting my family... uh... no I'm not spending all my time on thier computers... I am visiting... shut up.

I have been working on the second chapter of World Enough, and Time... , it's been going well but as you see, being away from home and all I can't get the chapter up this week. ( I was hoping for weekly updates)  Also I've had some structure and plot issues.  Do I reveal all the info on Tyki and Miranda up front or gradually?  Up front seems a bit touchy.  A slow reveal seems best.  And them there is the omake(silly humour moment =P) type beginning of chapter 2 I'm playing with.  D. Gray-Man goes for those moments in the manga itself so it shouldn't seem too far removed from the credible.  Ah well.  I'm back on Thursday then I have 2 days to myself so I should be able to get it up then.  Also I have a lovely dark Tyki and Road one shot in the works centering around Tyki's dark awakening in the manga.

Well, back to my family and to those who've reviewed... Thanks!  Updates are on the way!  Bye bye!

If it looks unfamiliar it's because it isn't officially in North America yet. It's about two volumes ahead. Heck they're up to Chap. 76 in Japan now, but there are 'scanlations' out there (fans translating for fans) because, let's face it, there ain't nothing pretty about a manga nerd in withdrawl. O_o

What's great about this is, it's Scar vs. Kimbly, the alchemist who killed Scar's brother and family. The original line from the panel (cause you can't read it here) is

"The left side... was it?"

Brilliant because Kimbly had just been mocking Scar about how badly he'd hurt his brother then Scar catches him by surprise and does the same to him. I cheered... (evil grin)

Also Scar looks particularly dangerously sexy in this panel (Yes I know he's a two dimensional illustration... still... yum.) Gotta love those tortured anti-heroes...

Home sick... trying to write... failing miserably... blah. What a waste of a day. Again blah. I did write a cheesy fanfic lately based on Ouran Host Club anime/manga. It was a cute one-shot Mori/Haruhi, called 'Dream a Little Dream'. I posted it on fanfiction.net and got some nice feedback. I should post it here but I need to find the right communities, join them and figure out how to cross post.

I have some story ideas for Fullmetal Alchemist as well, both Scar-centic of course. Anyone who knows my taste in characters will realize he is,yes, a tragic antihero type.

I ought to work on my original stories as well.
